Freemasonry in Farnborough

Farnborough's only Saturday masonic lodge, meeting 4 times a year, bringing good men together.

Every Freemason has his own reason for joining.  What’s yours?

Any man over the age of 21 may join, regardless of ethnic group, political views, economic standing or religion, although you are expected to have a faith.

We practice the following:

Embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-knowledge with an aim of self-improvement.

Enjoy the challenge and subsequent satisfaction of progressing from Apprentice to Master Mason and eventually Master of your lodge.

What do we do?

We work ceremonies that are 300 years old, we have fun and we support those less fortunate than ourselves through charitable work.

Our story

We’ve been around since 1962

Our Lodge was sponsored by members of Rectitude Secundus Lodge, No. 6778 in 1961.  The Most Worshipful The Grand Master granted the petition to form More Majorum Lodge on the 13th September 1961 and the Lodge was consecrated at Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street on Thursday, 4th January, 1962.

The aims of the Founders were that ‘the new Lodge shall be a happy Lodge, and shall give the younger Brethren opportunity for advancement in the craft, and provide charity in its widest senses’.

Our ritual

Masonic ritual and ceremonies that have evolved over 300+ years

Each masonic lodge works ritual and ceremonies that are the same but different, it’s what gives each lodge a unique ethos and atmosphere.

We’re the only lodge in Hampshire & Isle of Wight to work what is known as Universal Ritual – regimented, powerful, symbolic and very meaningful.

I’m extremely proud to be a member of this vibrant Lodge, with an eclectic mix of brethren with countless years of Masonic experience.

Bro. Chris T.

I love the ceremonial aspect of what we do, it’s like nothing you’ll experience in day to day life.

Bro. Guy S.

I find the lodge meetings and the ritual are actually a break away from the normal stress of work, and almost an escape from some pressures.

Bro. Chris A.
